As a Pediatric Endocrinologist, I specialized in serving adolescents with chronic diseases, and their families.

During the healthcare pandemic of 2020, I discovered the calming power of mindfulness and meditation.Β
At first, I practiced mindfulness techniques to ease my own anxiety and to provide the mental clarity I needed to navigate my work as a doctor.Β
I soon realized that if these techniques could help me, they could also help my patients and their families. I began researching the effects of mindfulness training in support groups for teens with chronic illness. I saw teenagers learn to cope with the stress of managing their symptoms and build emotional resilience. When I began teaching my patients families to foster whole body wellness, everyone benefited. Families were not only healthier, but happier too.Β
Now, I teach moms to use the mind-body connection to gain self-awareness, manage stress, and develop effective coping skills.Β
